We believe in the power of sport to transform young lives.

Story

This year, as Access Sport turns 20 years old and takes on the challenge of supporting 25,000 disadvantaged and disabled children and young people to access the transformational benefits of inclusive sport, I'm taking on my own challenge! Having got back into running through 2023, I'm going BIG and running the 2024 TSC LONDON MARATHON in aid of Access Sport.

This is my first marathon and I'm excited and terrified in equal measure! Last time I had a place I got a stress fracture in my heel bone and spent several months on crutches. This time my Vitamin D levels are tip-top and my brilliant colleague Tom Dixon, who also happens to be a running coach, has given me a training plan that includes runs with my new running club, 26.2, the London Half on 3rd March (Access Sport is an official charity partner and you can still sign up to run for us!) and even schedules my rest days to coincide with Access Sport's fundraising events - how thoughtful of you Tom ;-). Training is going well and I promise to provide updates on this page.

So now it's time to get fundraising! Please, please, please donate what you can. Access Sport's work wouldn't be possible without the support of brilliant people like you.

Every pound raised will also help motivate me to get my trainers on and go running, which is easier said than done when its dark pre and post work! So please don't wait until the week before the race to donate - I need an early boost!!!

Thank you for your support - you are amazing!

Access Sport is a registered charity. We make inclusion the norm by tackling the access barriers faced by disadvantaged and disabled young people, focussing on the causes of exclusion—not just the symptoms.
