Story
Tim and I lost our beautiful daughter, Rebecca, aged 29, to a Sarcoma cancer in 2023. Becca was a healthy, caring, hardworking young lady who loved people.
Becca developed a back ache which was eventually diagnosed, following surgery, as a rare Retroperitoneal Synovial Sarcoma. After several rounds of high dose chemotherapy, scans were clear, only for the sarcoma to return 3 months later. This time there was no treatment, Becca died 8 months later, trying to enjoy life right till the end.
In memory of Becca I've chosen to complete the Swim for Sarcoma challenge, swimming 15km in 31 days during October for Sarcoma UK, a national charity that funds vital research, offers support for anyone affected by sarcoma cancer and campaigns for better treatments.
Sarcoma is a type of cancer that develops in the bone and soft tissue. It is difficult to diagnose and one of the hardest to treat. By supporting me, we can help change this. Your donation will help researchers find answers, keep the specialist Support Line open, and raise awareness to improve treatment and standards of care.
Thank you for your support!
Helen
