We exist to provide invaluable support to people across the north of Scotland

Story

The Oxygen Works is a local, independent Scottish charity (SC020475) based in Inverness.  We provide oxygen therapy and personalised support and treatments to people living in the Scottish Highlands.

Across all of our operations and interactions we focus on the individuals we support at all times.  Providing the highest standard of treatment and client care.  We operate an environment of trust and respect to provide a positive experience for all.

In February 2021 Davy went to work as a sat diver in Mexico. Whilst onboard the ship he contracted covid and was put into an induced coma. He was not expected to last the night and when he did, they gave him 5 days max. But Davy was super strong and pulled through but sadly suffered multiple infarcts to the brain when he came out of his coma.

Davy spent 13 months in hospital and requires round the clock care for all personal needs. As a result of the damage to the brain he now has epilepsy.

In 2023 Davy and Helen found out about The Oxygen Works through an old school pal, Angela (who has sadly passed away since) and attended the hyperbaric chamber and neuro physio within The Oxygen Works. Staff and visitors alike were super friendly and supportive and quickly became a highlight of the week to go.

Prior to being hit with Covid Davy was super fit and enjoyed the odd run with Helen who loved a good ultra race or trail run.

Helen would like to include Davy in the marathon if possible.
