We're a local charity that works hand in hand with our incredible healthcare services to help them go above and beyond for patients, families and staff. We believe that everyone deserves access to the best possible healthcare, and our mission is to support our local NHS to help them deliver it.

Story

I'm lacing up my running shoes for the London Marathon 2025. This will be my first (and only!) marathon. Given this is a huge challenge for me I wanted to take this opportunity to fundraise for a charity which has supported my family.

When our son was 8 months old he was diagnosed with an autoimmune condition which makes him more vulnerable to severe bacterial infections. As a result we are frequently in and out of hospital as we mange his condition. One thing that has made a big impact is the care we have received on the childrens ward. Especially the little things that make a large impact when caring for child on the ward, this has included toys to play with, iPads to use when distracting him from uncomfortable procedures and even dog visits to brighten his day.

So I'm proud to be fundraising for the East Cheshire NHS Trust Charitable Fund, specifically the Macclesfield Children's Ward to support them to continue to make a big impact on the children and families that are receiving treatment.
