Story
I’m running a half marathon to raise money for Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) — an organisation I deeply admire and support.
As a final-year medical student in the NHS I see, every day, how access to good healthcare can transform lives. However, for millions around the world even the most basic medical care is out of reach. MSF steps in where others can’t — working in over 70 countries, often in war zones, refugee camps and after natural disasters. They run emergency surgeries, treat malnutrition, deliver babies, vaccinate children and provide life-saving care to people who would otherwise have none.
Last year alone MSF performed over 16 million outpatient consultations, treated more than 2.5 million cases of malaria and assisted in over 300,000 births. These aren’t just numbers — they’re lives, families, and futures saved.
This cause is close to my heart; I believe that healthcare should be a human right not a privilege. I want to use this run to support those who bring that belief to life, in the most challenging of circumstances.
Any donation big or small will directly help MSF, it will provide emergency medical care to people who need it most. Thank you so much for your support — it means the world to me and will help to transform lives for the better.
