Story
Today was my annual breast cancer check-up, two years after finishing my treatment… and thankfully, everything is looking good. 💗
These appointments never get any easier. The nerves beforehand are very real, and hearing that everything is okay brings an overwhelming wave of relief. But life after breast cancer means you never completely leave it behind. You just learn to live with it between each check-up.
It really made me reflect on how different my story, and the stories of so many of my friends in Breast Foot Forward, could have been without the life-changing research into breast cancer. Research gives hope, better treatments and, for many of us, more precious time.
So this time, I’m taking on a different kind of challenge… 🥴
My lovely friend Marie and I will be taking part in the Groudle Glen Sleep Out together to raise money for Breast Cancer Now. We became friends through adversity, both having experienced breast cancer, and we’re incredibly grateful to still be here making memories together. It feels very special to be taking on this challenge side by side in support of the research that has helped so many of us.
We’ll be spending the night sleeping under the stars. I haven’t camped since I was at school, and even then I was in a tent! So this should be interesting! 😂
If you’d like to support us and help fund the research that’s changing lives, we’d be so grateful for any donation, no matter how big or small.
Thank you, as always, for your kindness, encouragement and continued support. It truly means the world. 💕
