Dear friends and colleagues,

I'm fundraising for the Coal Creek Family YMCA's annual Community Fundraiser. I joined the Y 8 years ago, for the convenience of the location, their great exercise programs and a fun, safe club to meet my friends and meet new ones. I have always had a desire to help bring joy and happiness to children and lower income families. I was inspired to see how the Y's mission is helping kids and families have a safe place to come to.

So I decided to volunteer and get more involved in supporting this great cause.The Fund Drive helps fulfill the Y's mission: Building a community where all people, especially the young, are encouraged to develop their fullest potential in spirit, mind, and body. This mission, in its holistic approach and with a focus on the young, has proven timeless!

The YMCA's offer scholarships for swimming classes, day summer camps, their backpack program throughout the school year and recently opened a new Early Childcare Learning Center in Eastgate. The Y's also have various programs centered around Chronic Disease Prevention such as Diabetes Prevention, Parkinson's awareness, and Prevention Childhood Obesity.
