In December 2022 my son Blake was extremely unwell and my husband and I stayed in the Ronald McDonald House in Oxford. Staying in the house whilst our son was intubated in critical care meant more than I can ever explain. Blake made a full recovery however we will never forget that period and the support we received.

I completed the Bristol Half Marathon in 2023 and - with overwhelming support from friends, colleagues and family - raised over £5,000.

I am not a runner in the slightest, however the opportunity to raise money for this amazing charity again is what it is all about.

Ronald McDonald House Charities UK provides free ‘home away from home’ accommodation to families with children having treatment in hospital.

The Houses offer much more than just a place to stay; they provide family activities, peer support, respite, and many other services. This means that families can be by their child’s bedside in a matter of moments, whilst maintaining a degree of normal life with reduced emotional and financial strain.
