Story
The People’s Health Trust support people at the sharp end of health inequality, including disabled people, people with learning disabilities, older people, LGBT+ communities, communities experiencing racial inequality, and women experiencing domestic violence. To date, the charity has reached 3,500 community groups and almost 800,000 people in Great Britain who are experiencing disadvantage and marginalisation.
The People’s Health Trust grant-fund communities to tackle health and improve wellbeing, and bring people together to learn from each other and provide expertise on issues of critical importance to health in their area.
Our donations will allow the People’s Health Trust to fund grassroots projects which offer solutions to society’s most pressing health issues in some of the country’s most disadvantaged neighbourhoods.
People in Great Britain are dying too young because of where they live, or who they are. It’s not okay that people living in poverty, people living in poor housing, people with low paid jobs or facing discrimination have shorter lives. We want to make health equal. We want to see health inequalities replaced by health equity – a fair chance for everyone to live a long, healthy life. - The People’s Health Trust
