This year, I’m so proud to be captaining the first ever CGI London women’s team as we take part in my company CGI’s European Championship at The Hive Football Stadium, home of Barnet FC in North London, on 14 June ✨

Football has always had a special place in my heart. I was that girl at primary school who spent every lunchtime playing football with the boys in the playground, taking it far too seriously, probably arguing that “next goal wins” was legally binding.

I even captained our primary school team to victory, which I will continue to mention as one of my peak sporting achievements until further notice 🏆

Then, like so many girls, I got a bit older and slowly stopped playing.

So getting back into football now, and having the chance to captain this team, genuinely means so much to me. Playing at The Hive is definitely a long way from the primary school playground, and signing up for this has reminded me how much joy, confidence and community football can bring.

But this is about so much more than football.

I’m fundraising for Goals4Girls, an incredible charity that empowers girls and young women through football and mentorship 💜🌍 Their work helps girls build confidence, find community, and access opportunities they may not otherwise have had.

By the age of 14, girls drop out of sport at twice the rate of boys 💔

That means so many girls are losing more than just a game. They’re losing a space to feel confident, make friends, be strong, have fun, and believe in themselves. Goals4Girls is helping to change that by creating opportunities for girls to stay in sport and feel supported both on and off the pitch 🫶✨

Our team is aiming to raise £2,000 🎯 and every donation, big or small, will help support more girls to access sport and everything that comes with it: confidence, connection, joy, and opportunity.
