Story
This October, I will be taking on the challenge of the Royal Parks Half Marathon. While I feel a combination of fear and excitement, I am incredibly proud to be running in support of Macmillan Cancer Support. Every penny raised will go directly to Macmillan, enabling them to provide essential cancer services, fund vital research, and advocate for improved care for those affected by cancer.
I will be running alongside my partner, Millie, who is also committed to raising funds for Macmillan Cancer Support. Millie is running in memory of her mum who passed due to cancer. This year marks the 10th year since her passing, and although I did not know Judi personally, the impact and effect she has had on Millie has been profound. For this 10th year, this run is honouring Judi, whilst also supporting others currently affected by this disease. This event is not just about completing a half marathon, but also about supporting all those both directly and indirectly affected by cancer.
I humbly ask for your support through donations towards this important cause. Your contributions will make a meaningful impact and help ensure that Macmillan can continue their invaluable work in improving cancer care and supporting patients. I promise to share race day photos and updates on my progress here after the event on 12th October 2025.
If you are also able, please consider donating to Millie's fundraising page as well: https://www.justgiving.com/page/millie-goodwin-1?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=CL
A staggering 98% of Macmillan’s income comes from voluntary contributions, which have directly supported over 2.3 million people in 2023 alone. It is crucial that we keep fundraising so that this wonderful charity can expand its reach and provide care for even more individuals each year.
Thank you for considering this request.
