Bournemouth Half Marathon 2023 · 8 October 2023 ·

The aim of the Christian Blandford fund is to improve the comfort of children and their families, particularly those affected by cancer, during prolonged stays in local NHS hospitals. This is how the lovely people at Post Pals described us “they realised a lot of people support the main children’s or cancer hospitals yet the local hospitals which children spend a lot of time in with infections or for transfusions rarely get support. They decided instead of fundraising for huge items they instead would do the little things others don’t think of, like buying decent curtains for the children’s ward so the kids no longer wake up at sunrise in the summer – a truly wonderful charity working away quietly at improving families quality of life.”

Story

Hi all, soon I will be running the Bournemouth half marathon. After doing the Birmingham 10k a few months ago (see photo evidence of struggles on this page) I drunkenly agreed to do this half Marathon. Since then I have stuck to a fairly strict training routine and a much stricter still enjoying life routine. But through months of Pain & Pints the big day approaches on Sunday.

Thought this would be a great excuse to raise a bit of money for the Christian Blandford Fund, a charity set up by my family after my brothers battle with Cancer (don’t worry, he’s 2 for 0 so far and thriving these days). The aim of the Christian Blandford Fund is to improve the comfort of children and their families, particularly those affected by cancer, during prolonged stays in NHS hospitals. Feel free to look at the blog posts from all the work done here: https://www.christianblandford.com/category/blog/

So to anyone who fancies supporting a mate and donating to a charity at the same time here is your chance!

Much love,

H xx
