The Special Reconnaissance Regiment (SRR) has a unique global role, in that it conducts covert operations in very hostile environments and is often first on the ground. This usually requires long deployments, putting extreme pressure on both the soldiers and their families. The primary role of the Special Reconnaissance Regimental Association (SRRA) is to support the wellbeing of former and serving Operators and their families. We are welfare-focused, providing our members, with a discreet and trusted network of support for themselves and their immediate families. Our small team understands the difficult working and living conditions of our membership – each having served in, or alongside, the Regiment for several years. We work diligently and empathetically on behalf of the President, Executive Committee and membership. The primary role of the Association is to support the wellbeing of former and serving Operators and their immediate families. This is enabled by our generous benefactors, supporters and friends, whose donations are spent in accordance with our charitable objectives. An overview of our charitable expenditure is available on the Charities Commission (England and Wales) registered charity number 1147005.

Story

A British Army team will be aiming to complete the Marathon Des Sables next April, in support of Cancer Research UK and The SRRA

Considered one of the most challenging multi-day running events in the world, MDS will challenge them all to their limits. They will run across sand and rock, be completely self-sufficient (carrying everything on their backs), have rationed water-supply and be exposed to extreme heat.

Taking part will require huge amounts of dedication, discipline, and motivation to be ready and even then, completing this race is not guaranteed.

Please support them as they build towards this epic challenge using the QR code below.
