Story
I'm taking on a charity skydive in support of Mates in Mind, a cause that’s incredibly important in our day-to-day lives.
Mates in Mind is a leading UK charity that empowers organisations to foster mentally healthy workplaces, particularly in industries like construction, where mental health challenges are often overlooked. They work to break the silence and stigma around mental health by promoting a culture of openness, support, and prevention.
The construction industry currently faces a mental health crisis. Every day, too many workers struggle in silence, often feeling isolated or unable to speak up. Mates in Mind believes that by embedding mental health into the fabric of workplace culture, we can prevent crises before they happen.
A few scary statistics:
•A third of Construction Workers live with extreme levels of anxiety.
•2 in 3 UK tradespeople have misused drugs and/or alcohol to mitigate symptoms of mental ill health.
•3 out of 5 employees experience mental health issues because of work.
Your donation will help Mates in Mind continue their vital work—providing training, resources, and support to organisations and individuals alike. Together, we can challenge the stigma, open up conversations, and build a future where mental health is treated with the same importance as physical health.
I’m jumping out of a plane, hopefully wearing hi-vis construction attire, to raise awareness within the construction industry and funds for this incredible cause. Any support you can give, big or small, will make a real difference.
If you’re struggling, need a chat, or just want to share your story, I’m here. No judgment, no pressure, just a listening ear.
Thank you for helping me support a cause that’s helping make tomorrow a better future.
