Leeds Rhinos Foundation is Leeds Rhinos' official charity that delivers projects in the heart of the community. Harnessing the power of sport to make a lasting, positive impact on individuals' lives as Leeds Rhinos' charity we have an amazing opportunity to truly change lives through sport.

Story

With a joint love of sport and having been inspired by a talk at school about the amazing work Leeds Rhinos Foundation does in the community, we wanted to take on a challenge which will push us (and our Dads!) both physically and mentally whilst hopefully raising lots of money for this brilliant charity.

The Welsh 3000s challenge is to walk all of the 15 mountains in Wales which are over 3,000 ft. The total length is around 30 miles and we will be aiming to complete it in 48 hours over 24th & 25th May. All of the peaks are situated in Snowdonia National Park, spread across three mountain ranges and will involve navigating famous peaks such as Snowdon as well as notoriously difficult peaks such as Crib Goch and Tryfan. This is going to be an incredibly tough challenge which is going to require a lot of training, dedication, fitness, stamina and determination as well as a lot of sweets! Fortunately we will be dragging our dads along with us to be our navigators, bag carriers and general support crew.

The Leeds Rhinos Foundation aims to change lives through sport. And we love sport - before being at school together, we became friends through sport and we know how fortunate we are to have access to incredible sporting facilities and opportunities both in and out of school. Not everyone has those opportunities and Leeds Rhinos Foundation deliver projects in the heart of communities that provide opportunities, raise aspirations and enable people to be the best they can be. Evidence suggests sport can help tackle some of the most challenging issues in our society, whether it is health inequalities, social deprivation, criminality, isolation, exclusion or racism - both young and old, newcomers, the isolated, those lacking in confidence or those often ignored can all feel included through the power of sport.
