Story
I’m doing my first ever sponsored walk and it’s in aid of humanitarian aid for Ukraine through the charity New Forest for Ukraine (NFFU) on Sunday 14th September 2025. I want to raise £300 which would pay for a generator for a community which will be badly needed as attacks continue on power supplies and infrastructure and with another hard winter coming. I’m doing this through one of the New Forest Marathon’s events. I am not up to a marathon quite yet, but I hope that this will be a good start!
Wanting to make a difference, I have been volunteering with NFFU for the last 18 months and helping to run the warehouse - rather than just shout at the TV. That’s also why I’m delighted to be walking and (I hope!) raising funds in support of NFFU.
NFFU is a small registered charity (number 1208709) based in the New Forest, which is dedicated to delivering humanitarian aid directly to Ukraine. The charity is run solely by volunteers. NFFU pay no wages or expenses. Every penny goes to the relief effort.
How will your donation be used? NFFU need financial donations to buy aid and keep the trucks running. £1 will move an aid truck one mile; £25 will buy a portable stove keeping a family fed and warm in a hard Ukrainian winter; £300 will buy a portable diesel generator that will keep a community powered up and connected if local power is interrupted.
My fundraising target is £300 - enough for a generator. Anything more would be a real bonus.
