Story
On the 18th January 2025, Zaki and I will be taking on a challenge bigger than anything we’ve faced before , for a cause that is of huge importance to me. We will be attempting to hike the National Three Peaks within 24 hours. We've decided to tackle it in January when the weather will be at its harshest. Freezing temperatures, potential snowstorms and Icy conditions are all things that will be thrown at us. The short daylight hours will make this a further obstacle as 66% of the challenge will be done in complete darkness. We will have to complete the three highest peaks in the UK - Ben Nevis, Snowdon, and Scarfell Pike.
As you’ve probably guessed, I will be doing this for the Alzheimer’s Society, a cause that is deeply personal for me: Four years ago, my Dad was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, and in February 2024, I lost my Grandad to the same cruel disease. Alzheimer’s is a terminal illness with no cure, making its impact even more devastating. I have seen and will carry on seeing the terrible effects that Alzheimer’s disease has on people and their families, which pushes me to do everything I can to help find a cure.
The Alzheimer's Society is on the frontline, providing crucial support, funding vital research, and campaigning tirelessly for better care and understanding of dementia.
Finally, a huge thank you to Eve and Ella, who will be driving us from peak to peak. Without them, all of this simply wouldn’t be possible.
Your donation, no matter how small, will make a real difference!
