1000 Pull Up Challenge
Goal: £10,000
For: Kirkwood Hospice
Date and Time: 18/04/2026, 11am Start
This is a challenge that’s been on my mind for a long time. Ever since I became strong enough to do my first few pull ups, the idea was always there, but I never quite had the knowledge or courage to fully commit to it.
So, what changed?
At the very beginning of 2025, I was home from university over the latter end of the holidays, and I found myself constantly stressing about money. One day, while on my break at work, I made a risky investment on a whim that quickly paid off. The feeling was euphoric, unlike anything I’d felt before.
But before I knew it, I’d gone deeper down the rabbit hole. I started pulling money out of safe, long-term investments I’d built up over years, ignoring the risks and chasing fast wins. Eventually, I went all in on one stock. At first, it skyrocketed, but I didn’t sell. Then, in the space of a week, it collapsed by over 70%.
I went back to university and tried to carry on as normal, but mentally I was broken. I replayed my mistakes over and over. I barely slept. My training fell apart. I felt disconnected from everyone around me. I’d worked hard for years, and suddenly it felt like it had all been for nothing.
Then one day it clicked. Sitting in that pain wasn’t fixing anything. It was only amplifying it. I had two options. Stay there, or channel it into something meaningful.
So, I started rebuilding. I got back into training, returned to calisthenics, forced myself out of isolation, and began planning this challenge seriously.
During that time, I kept having the same conversation with myself, not just about money, but about how easily I let situations around me affect how I saw myself. How often I put my worth second to outcomes and validation.
That’s where the name YouMatterMore came from.
It was a reminder I needed to hear. I had to matter more than money. More than validation. More than anyone else’s perception of me. Because if I didn’t believe that, no one else ever would.
This challenge isn’t just about pull ups. It’s about proving to myself that I can take something I found deeply painful, and turning it into something meaningful, all whilst helping others at the same time.
I’m also doing this in memory of my loved ones who have spent time at Kirkwood Hospice, an organisation that supports individuals and families during some of the most difficult moments of their lives, offering the best care when it matters the most.
The challenge will be streamed live on Instagram/Facebook, and YouTube from 11am on the 18th of April. I’m not expecting anyone to watch hours and hours of pull ups😂 but if you drop by, show support, donate, or even just share, it would genuinely mean everything to me.
£10,000 is a huge goal, especially starting from a fresh account. I’ll be honest, I don’t know exactly how I’m going to reach it yet. But that’s part of the journey, and I hope you’ll support me along the way. No matter what we raise, it’s all going to a great cause.
If you’re able to support me in any way possible, the link in my bio will take you to all my socials, contact emails, and the JustGiving page. I’d really appreciate literally anything you’d be willing to do to show support.

What your donation could provide:
“Your £10 donation could fund a virtual wellbeing session for a patient living with heart failure.
A donation of £50 could pay for specialist counselling support for a patient and their family.
£100 could provide vital support to a patient in their own home from one of The Kirkwood Nurses.
The Kirkwood are here to support anyone affected by a life limiting illness, every step of the way. Right now, over 3,000 people in Kirklees are living with an illness from which they will not recover. Your support means we’re here for them.”
