I’m taking on a new challenge of riding in a race at Newbury Racecourse on 24th July over 1m 2f! Despite having ridden horses for many years, this challenge will test my physical fitness and balance and it is something I’ve not had the opportunity to do before. I’m raising money for HEROs.

HEROs Charity is a vital cog in the wheel for the re-training and re-homing of ex-racehorses matching horses to their new careers & owners and it has been in operation since 2006. Ex-racehorses have a huge potential for a change of career once their racing days are over. There are many opportunities for them such as eventing, dressage, polo, show-jumping, hacks, companions and more.

In addition to a wide range of work associated with horses, HEROS also provide a range of education and training including; alternative to school placements for students from 11 – 16 years old and courses for post 16yo learning. HEROS specialises in engaging SEN students and those who are struggling in mainstream education. Young people progress towards the workplace having found “their authentic self” at HEROS Charity.

Without the help from fundraisers and donations, HEROs Charity could not continue this amazing work with both the horses and students.
