Hettie 's fundraiser for The Hubb Foundation

Potters 'Arf Marathon · 28 September 2025
I’m taking on the challenge of my first ever half marathon to raise money for an incredible local charity: The Hubb Foundation.
This is way out of my comfort zone, but it's for a cause that truly matters.
Since working in secondary schools across Stoke-on-Trent, I’ve seen first-hand the amazing impact The Hubb Foundation has on children and families who need support the most. They provide free healthy meals, physical and creative activities, and enriching experiences during school holidays a time when many families struggle to make ends meet and yet children’s charities receive some of the lowest levels of public support.
Only 10% of total UK charitable donations go to children’s and young people’s causes.
Children’s charities are statistically among the least donated to, despite the overwhelming need.
Here in Stoke the need is urgent:
Over 19,000 children in Stoke-on-Trent are living in absolute poverty.
Nearly 37% of children in the city are eligible for free school meals.
Over a third of the population are among the 10% most deprived in England.
24.7% of households are living in fuel poverty — the highest in the country.
The Hubb Foundation is already making a huge difference, but there’s so much more to be done. With your help, they can reach more children, provide more support, and help build brighter futures.
Please support me if you can. Every donation, no matter how small, makes a real difference.
Thank you ❤️
