Coniston Skyline Challenge. Walk 18.4km distance and climb 1,120m of ascent in Fancy Dress, 23 May 2024
Project 500 is a movement to raise £500,000 for Mind Over Mountains by June 2025, to significantly grow our charity so we can support more people with their mental health across the UK, through therapeutic outdoor experiences.

Story

As the UK's leading walking holiday provider, HF Holidays strongly believes in promoting the health and wellbeing benefits of embracing the great outdoors.

That's why for both Mental Health Awareness Week and National Walking Month this May, we're raising money for Mind Over Mountains - a charity that offers professional mental health support to those in need by combining hill walking with the healing power of nature.

To support this fantastic cause, 13 members of the HF Holidays Penrith office will be taking on the Southern Lake District's Coniston Skyline Challenge. Together we’ll cover a total of 18.4km distance and 1,120m of ascent up Wetherlam via Steel Edge and the summits of Swirl How and the Old Man of Coniston.

Every donation will go towards Project 500, Mind Over Mountain’s campaign to raise £500,000 to help drive real change in the way the UK manages mental health and wellbeing.

Here’s what your donation could contribute towards:

• £40 would pay for one person to attend a day-walk

• £50 would provide a follow-up professional counselling for someone in need

• £195 would cover a full weekend of respite in nature

Please give as little or as much as you can spare.

Thank you!
