September is Childhood Cancer Awareness month symbolised worldwide by the Gold Ribbon 🎗️

In memory of Pearl Dixie BartlettBundy we turn the village of Hassocks GOLD every September, to raise awareness and funds to fight Childhood Cancer.

Sadly cancer is the most common cause of death in children aged 1-14 years but despite this Childhood Cancer receives only a tiny proportion of cancer research funding (less than 1.4%)

So far via the CCLG, and through fundraisers such as HassocksGoesGold, #PearlPower has now helped to fund SIX research projects. These projects are focussed on developing new treatments for brain tumours, Juvenile MyeloMonocytic Leukemia and most recently Ewings sarcoma - the very type of childhood cancer that took Pearl.

….and so much good to be done in funding research into childhood cancers with poor outcomes. Let’s ensure a future where all children with cancer can survive and spare other families the tragedy that Pearl's family live with every day.
