Helen’s year as High Sheriff of Herefordshire is drawing to a close and, with typically indomitable spirit, she’s going out with a bang not a whimper. During her year she has seen first hand the incredible work of so many charities and volunteers as well as many individuals facing life challenges. The need to support is huge and growing; the resources are diminishing. So your help is needed please! In return Helen is preparing to compromise latent vertigo concerns to jump out of a plane from 15,000 feet, hopefully strapped to someone who knows what they’re doing, but a frightening prospect nonetheless. The skydive takes place on Saturday 28th February at Salisbury.

In true Helen style, she is roping in a pillar of the establishment who was minding her own business until being sweet talked into this crazy challenge. Well done for going above and beyond to Sue Furnival, Chair of Herefordshire Bench for being such a big (and brave) sport. Every penny, cent or euro will go directly to the High Sheriff Fund which will be allocated to organisations in Herefordshire, particularly focussing on youth and crime prevention. To raise a pound for every foot we drop would be a dream but let’s keep our feet on the ground and Sue and I would be thrilled to raise £3,000 or as close as we can.
