Story

To mark our 60th Anniversary, Highbridge Caravans is turning celebration into support for a cause close to our hearts: raising vital funds for Children’s Hospice South West.

In November (Date TBC), a four-person team led by Jody—our Devon Motorhome Sales Manager with more than two decades in the industry—will set off on an epic UK-wide journey. Driving a campervan from Land’s End to John O’Groats would already be a feat, but we’re making every mile count by stopping at each of our British manufacturing partners along the way.

The drive itself—roughly 20 hours on the road (Not including essential pit stops) must be completed inside a relentless 24-hour window. Yet the real urgency isn’t the stopwatch; it’s the children and families who rely on the specialised hospice care and family-support services that Children’s Hospice South West provides.

This challenge wouldn’t be half as thrilling without the stakes—and they’re sky‑high. Our team must cover a daunting distance in record time, and failure carries a chilling penalty. If they don’t succeed, Nessie gets her pick of the lot, starting with an icy plunge into the wintry waters of Loch Ness. (P.S Jody can’t swim!)

Regardless of whether our team is able to succeed in this challenge, every pound we raise will go straight to the hospice, helping babies, children and young people with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions receive comfort, dignity and joy.

The charity holds special meaning for our entire team—especially for Alex Davies, the mother of our Directors—who, along with her friends from a Highbridge group, has raised £170,000 for this vital cause over the years. That’s why we’re determined to turn this anniversary event into real, lasting impact.

Please join us in celebrating 60 years of Highbridge Caravans by donating, sharing our story and cheering us on. Together, we can transform a challenging drive into brighter days for the families served by Children’s Hospice South West.
