Inverness Women’s Aid provides refuge accommodation and outreach support to women,

children and young people across the Highlands who are experiencing domestic abuse. Our

services are trauma-informed, supporting individuals to recover from abuse and move

towards safer, stable futures.

We work in collaboration with local partners to ensure that women and families can access

the support they need when they need it - from crisis intervention to longer-term advocacy

around housing and wellbeing. Alongside this, we deliver structured programmes such as the

Own My Life course, supporting women to understand their experiences and rebuild their

lives after abuse. Our work has a significant impact within the local community, helping

women to break cycles of abuse and regain control.

Funding raised through partnerships such as Highland Business Women directly supports the

delivery of our frontline services: maintaining our refuge, providing essential items and

funding specialist support staff.

As Charity of the Year, we hope to raise both vital funds and awareness of domestic abuse in

the Highlands. This will strengthen our ability to support those who need us most and amplify

the voices of women and children affected by abuse
