Story
On 25th July, we’re taking on the Yorkshire Three Peaks challenge (Pen-y-ghent, Whernside & Ingleborough) – 24 miles in around 12 hours – to raise money for Heartbeat North West Cardiac Care.
Heartbeat is a specialist cardiac rehabilitation centre that supports people recovering from serious heart conditions and surgery. It provides structured rehab programmes, expert supervision, and a safe environment to rebuild strength, fitness and confidence after life-changing cardiac events.
What makes it even more important is that it receives no government funding and relies entirely on donations to continue its work.
I experienced first-hand how important that support is after undergoing open-heart surgery in December to replace my aortic valve. Recovery doesn’t stop when you leave hospital, and Heartbeat played a key role in helping me safely regain my fitness and confidence.
Just a few months ago, I was struggling with basic day-to-day activity. Now, I’m aiming to complete 24 miles across the Three Peaks.
This challenge is about raising funds to help Heartbeat continue supporting people through recovery—giving others the same opportunity I’ve had.
If you’re able to donate, any support would be greatly appreciated.
