Fancy a challenge? Join us to Hike the Hydros!

Get your walking boots ready because SSE Renewables’ annual wellbeing challenge is back!

Last year over 400 colleagues took part in the Walk the Wind Farms challenge and raised a fantastic £6,500 for mental health charity, SAMH.

This September, we’re challenging you to Hike the Hydros!

With the help of the Onshore Renewables GIS Team, we have used their mapping software (GIS) to calculate the distance between all of our hydro projects in Scotland. Working in teams up to six, you can aim to stroll, walk or run: 

- 1846km – the full distance of our hydro fleet

- 1376km – the distance between our fleet in the north of Scotland

- 1033km – the distance between our fleet in the south of Scotland

Along with being a great health and team building challenge, we’re asking everyone who takes part to help us raise funds for the Samaritans by giving £30 entry to join the challenge and through raising additional sponsorship.

This challenge isn’t limited to just SSE Renewables. If you have a colleague working in another part of SSE who’d like to join, they are welcome to get involved!

Hike the Hydros will officially begin on Sunday 1 September.
