Story
For years the country of Palestine has been suffering from a humanitarian crisis, which is still ongoing to this day. Almost 70% of the population lacks basic food security and access to safe drinking water. Sanitation is another issue faced by the people of Palestine, due to hygiene facilities being damaged by the rise in hostilities. Furthermore, the insufficient number of health supplies has overall increased the susceptibility to outbreaks of disease, with a shortage of 40% in medications. The recurring airstrikes and violence will only worsen the situation.
The University of Manchester’s ‘Friends of Palestine’ have come together to organise a winter charity hike, whereby all donations will go to Action For Humanity’s ‘Palestine Emergency’ charity.
⛰The hike will take place in the beautiful Lake district where we will climb Helvellyn (the 3rd highest peak in England).
🚀I would really appreciate any and all donations, shares and prayers!
