Ben Nevis at Night Challenge · 16 August 2025

Let's Talk About Loss runs peer-led meet ups across the UK for anyone aged 18 to 35 who has experienced bereavement. They are relaxed, safe, accessible spaces where young grievers can meet others who understand. Together, we're talking through the taboo.

Story

Hi All,

Thank you so much for taking the time to read about my fundraiser!

On Saturday 16th August 2025 at Midnight, I will be hiking up to the summit of Ben Nevis - the highest mountain in Scotland!

This will be a night time challenge, with me reaching the summit just in time for the sunrise!

After unexpectedly losing my dad in February 2024, I have pushed myself to get out and talk to people about him as much as possible & also attend therapy and meet other people who are trying to navigate life after a sudden loss. ❤️

My selected charity - Let's Talk About Loss - is a small charity that run meet ups across the UK for young people aged 18-35 encouraging everyone to talk about grief. 77% of 18-35 year olds have experienced grief yet 39% feel “uncomfortable” talking about it. They believe that by meeting other young people who have experienced loss, we can share our stories and our struggles without fear, judgement or awkward silences.

https://letstalkaboutloss.org/ - They are nationwide and they host events here in my home city of Norwich too so I have been able to attend their meet ups & be able to talk about my grief in a safe space and connect with other people who are also feeling the same way as myself.

This challenge is in memory of my dad and for those that have also experienced grief and loss of someone they love.

Any donation would be much appreciated! Thank you all so much <3
