🏰 Edinburgh to Glamis — 100 Miles for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice
Next month, I’m taking on one of the biggest physical challenges of my life — the Rat Race 100, a fully supported 100-mile ultramarathon running from Edinburgh Castle to Glamis Castle across the heart of Scotland.
That’s 100 miles. On foot. In 48 hours. Hopefully 🤞
The race kicks off at 8am on Saturday 26th July from Princes Street Gardens in Edinburgh, and the clock doesn’t stop until I cross the finish line on that iconic mile-long driveway leading to Glamis Castle. Through the night, through whatever the Scottish weather throws at me, and through every moment where my legs are screaming at me to stop — I’ll keep moving.
Along the way, the event has fully stocked aid stations to keep runners fuelled, a medical team on hand, and a completely waymarked route so there’s no getting lost in the Scottish countryside at 3am. I’ll also have my own secret weapon — my dad, who will be driving between aid stations to check in on me, keep my spirits up, and track my every move on the app. Every runner needs a crew, and I’m lucky enough to have the best one.
I’m not a professional athlete. I’m just someone who loves a challenge, has put in the training miles, and wants to do something meaningful with the effort. That’s where Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice comes in. Every step I take is a chance to raise money for a cause that genuinely matters, and your support — no matter the amount — will mean the world when I’m somewhere around mile 70 at 2am.
If you can spare anything, please donate via the link. It would mean a huge amount to me and to everyone who benefits from Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.
Thank you so much. Here we go. 🏴
