Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

For those of you that know me, I love a challenge!

To celebrate my 10 years at Dains Accountants and 10 years of Dains Cake Club, this year, together with Kodi Beveridge-Smith (and a great support crew from Dains Forensic Accounting), I will be embarking on my greatest challenge to date - a non-stop 100 mile walking challenge from Ilfracombe to Plymouth, on the weekend of 28/29 September 2024, all to raise funds for The Inflammatory Breast Cancer Network UK (IBC Network).

As many of you may be aware, Mel, Andrew Donaldson's wife, was diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer (IBC) last year and has received great support from the IBC Network. Consequently they have been chosen as Dains Birmingham office and Dains Cake Club's charity of the year.

Whilst Mel is still undergoing treatment, she will be joining us for the last five miles.

IBC is a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer that comprises only around 2% of all breast cancers, but is responsible for over 15% of all breast cancer deaths each year. The earliest it can be diagnosed is at Stage 3 and many are living with Stage 4 diagnoses. At the IBC Network, their mission is to provide vital support, raise awareness, and fund research to find better treatments and ultimately a cure for this devastating disease. With your support, we can make strides towards a brighter and healthier future for those affected by IBC. As the IBC Network's motto says, there is #HopeAlways.

All donations will be gratefully received.
