First, the reality;

2020 - 4912 LIVES LOST, THROUGH SUICIDE.

2021 - 5219 LIVES LOST, THROUGH SUICIDE.

2022 - 5284 LIVES LOST, THROUGH SUICIDE.

2023 - 5656 LIVES LOST, THROUGH SUICIDE.

2024 - 5717 LIVES LOST, THROUGH SUICIDE.

In 2026, the mission will be to run 5,717KM.

1KM, for every life lost through suicide in England over 2024. THIS IS, AN EMERGENCY.

As with 2023, I make a Christmas Day gift to myself. The greatest gift, I can offer to myself, for something bigger than me.

A year commitment again, to suicide prevention. Stepping, against living miserably.

Why? Because the number of suicides, again, has risen from last years total of 5,656 and has seen a continuation of the rise since 2020, where the total lives lost were 4,912. It’s heartbreaking and as an advocate for suicide prevention, I return to stepping in my purpose, to do whatever I can, to help. Because this cause, means everything to me.

This distance, scares me which is why I know, the time is right now, to do this.

To put in perspective, in 2024, I ran 4,100KM. This year 4,572KM as of Christmas Day. This has been a milestone distance for me. I am fully respectful of this target and will treat it accordingly, but this number, is personal to me which makes this next fundraiser, the right one for me.

A year I again dedicate, to charity.

Within it, I look to do solo planned runs, I’ve wanted to do for sometime but this truely is my year to make it my blank canvas.

Challenges within this challenge, marathons, ultras and all the wild ideas that come up along the way.
