Story
The Hog Charge is an annual fundraising mountain bike event, aimed at schoolchildren, their parents and teachers and raises funds for the Rhino Ark Kenya Charitable Trust
Rhino Ark raises money for the building of electric eco-fences around mountain ecosystems in Kenya, namely Aberdare National Park, Mt. Kenya and Mau Eburu . This provides an "ark" for wildlife such as rhino, leopard, elephant and mountain bongo but also safeguards vital upland water table habitats for Kenya.
The event is once again sponsored by Brookside Dairies, Peponi School, Northlands Ranch and East African Chains Ltd.
All funds raised are donated directly Rhino Ark.
2026 will be the 27th Hog Charge and over the years, the participants have raised over 90 million Kenya shillings for Rhino Ark.
The Hog Charge aims to get the school children:
1.) To research the conservation work of the Rhino Ark and then pass on this knowledge to their sponsors.
2.) To learn how to compete as a team
3.) To get them outdoors, away from their screens
4.) To challenge them
5.) To give them a sense of achievement once they have completed the Hog Charge.
6.) To just have fun !!
Thank you very much for your donation.
