We are taking part in "Superhero Walk 2026" on 13 September 2026 to raise vital funds for CHSF Superhero Walk 2026 and to support the children, patients, and families who rely on our region's heart unit. This cause is especially close to our hearts, because our family has experienced first-hand just how life-changing this care can be.

Our little girl Iris-Rae was diagnosed with a hole in the heart and a valve that did not function as it should after a doctor noticed a murmur during an appointment for a chest infection. That referral led us to the LGI, where we received the news and support that would shape the months/ years ahead.

Very recently, she underwent open heart surgery at the LGI and spent time on ward L51. In one of the most frightening moments a family can face, we placed our trust in the team who cared for her with skill, kindness, and compassion. During that time, this charity helped in ways we will never forget. A special bear and medal brought comfort to our child, and a room to stay in meant we could remain close when it mattered most. The staff went above and beyond to support us all, and their compassion helped us through an incredibly difficult journey.
