I'm joining a group of amazing mums to run 10k on Sunday 19th November for Release Counselling and Therapy for Women. We've trained in the wind, rain and sun. We've trained after broken nights. We've trained between drop-off and 9am meetings. It's been a pleasure to run with a group of such supportive, positive and resilient mums. Please give if you can, it's a hugely worthwhile cause.

Two in 10 new mothers experience postnatal depression and anxiety in pregnancy or the first year after a child is born. These mental health needs have also been exacerbated following the pandemic. Research has shown that depression among expectant and new mothers has almost tripled.

Since 2013, the brilliant team at Release has supported almost 1,500 women in Sussex. They run 1-1 counselling services, well-being days and postnatal groups for new parents all at no or low cost.

Release, which founded and runs Mother Nurture (formerly Mummyshock) in Brighton & Hove, is passionate about helping new mums build mental health resilience in a supportive community of other mums, and support one another to grow in confidence and well-being.
