Story
I will be running Cardiff Half Marathon in October in order to raise money for the National Autistic Society.
My (not so) little sister was diagnosed with Autism at 17 following years with no support and low mental health. Getting diagnosed so late can be so daunting. For a while she felt her label defined her, however, has come to realise it makes her who she is and I could not be prouder of her.
A month following her diagnosis she created a project called ‘Autism and Inclusivity within the Hockey Cymru Community’. Aiming to change perceptions on neurodiversity and educate our community in order to make hockey a place for all.
As of January this year, Lily launched NeurodiversityinSport. A brand in which is dedicated to ensuring sport is a place for all. As well as striving to change perceptions around Autism. We want all autistic individuals to be proud of who they are. It’s time perceptions changed and we adapt to make a society equip for all.
On October 6th 2024, I will be running Cardiff Half Marathon alongside my sister for the National Autistic Society. If possible, please donate below, it would mean the world!
