Story
Psych Services are fundraising for the ME Association by organising a Tea Party for M.E.' to celebrate the 13 year anniversary of Blue Sunday.
As someone living with M.E./Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, I wanted to take part this year and try to raise some awareness of a condition that is often overlooked, and I also love cake...
Blue Sunday is a fundraising event for the ME/CFS community, their allies, and the ME/CFS charities who support them. Created in 2013 by Anna Redshaw, the aim was to mould an inclusive fundraising event around her ill health and the restrictions that ME/CFS placed upon her life and the lives of the ME/CFS community.
The Tea Party For ME, the premise for Blue Sunday, came about after Anna was too unwell to celebrate her birthday in November 2012.
As she was unable to mark the occasion in ways she had before, Anna asked her family and friends to join her for a virtual party, posting photos and videos of themselves raising a mug of tea and enjoying a slice of cake. It felt so wonderful to feel connected with her loved ones when she was unable to leave the house or have any visitors. And so Blue Sunday was born!

ME (Myalgic Encephalopathy), or Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, blights the lives of over 400,000 people in the UK today. The smallest exertion can floor them; their joints and muscles ache unbearably; restful sleep eludes them; and ‘brain fog’ clouds their thinking. It changes lives drastically – disrupting study; making work impossible; and straining family relations to breaking point. Many sufferers cannot leave their homes. There is no known cure.
Please help us to help them.
