Story
My ‘Why’
I’m running the London Marathon for a charity that’s incredibly close to my heart — not just because I love a challenge (and questionable life choices), but because meningitis once changed my life.
When I was little, Mum and Dad both noticed something wasn’t right. What followed was a whirlwind trip to hospital, tests, and the frightening realisation that I had meningitis. I was admitted and treated straight away, surrounded by an incredible medical team who quite literally knew what to do when everything felt uncertain. After a few days, I was discharged and able to recover.
My story had a happy ending — but it so easily could have been very different. Meningitis takes lives every year, and too many families aren’t as lucky as mine was.
So I’ll be running 26.2 miles fuelled by gratitude, stubbornness, and the knowledge that supporting vital research can help save lives in the future. If my slightly unhinged decision to run the London Marathon helps raise even a small amount towards that, then every mile (and blister) will be worth it.
Thank you for supporting me, cheering me on, and helping turn my story into something that can help others ❤️🏃♀️
