Holybourne's fundraiser for CCLL - The Helping Hand for Ukraine

Jerry Janes is raising money for CCLL - The Helping Hand for Ukraine
Chernobyl Children's Lifeline has rebranded as CCLL - The Helping Hand for Ukraine and we prioritize help for children and their families in the northern areas of the country who are suffering from the ongoing conflict. We carry out our work without any political affiliation or bias.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page for CCLL - The Helping Hand for Ukraine.

The continuing need for relief in Ukraine is pressing. As more families flee the war zone, the demand for assistance increases. Our charity, which has been dedicated to supporting those affected by Chernobyl and then conflict for over fifteen years, knows how to effectively target relief supplies to ensure they reach those who need them most.

Our community has shown incredible generosity in donating all kinds of things, but our biggest challenge now is financial. We require funds to cover the transportation costs to Ukraine. Our journey begins with a van travelling to Lublin in Poland, where two additional vans from regional centres in Ukraine then distribute the donated aid to the areas of greatest need. The total cost for our van and the distribution vans amounts to approximately £3,000 for a single trip.

We can only embark on these missions when we have sufficient funds available. Therefore, any financial contribution you can provide would be immensely helpful and deeply appreciated. My goal initially is to raise enough money for just one trip.

Having become involved with this charity about a year ago, I felt compelled to witness first hand how our aid is utilized. The sight of shattered villages and towns was heart breaking; however, the resilience of the people I met was truly inspiring. I can assure you that your donations reach their intended targets and help keep families warm and clothed during these challenging times.

The work must continue, but it can only do so with your support. Please consider donating whatever you feel you can afford. I have encountered mothers in basements with earthen floors desperately trying to keep their children warm without any heating source—an appalling situation in today's world. They are not a third-world country; they are our fellow Europeans.

Please, if you are able, do donate.
