Story
This June/July I will be cycling over 1,000 km from our home in Surrey to my wife’s family home in Varese, Italy to raise money for the Teenage and Young Adult Cancer Service (TYAC) at Royal Surrey Hospital.
As you know, my wife Pip was diagnosed with breast cancer shortly before our daughter Matilda was born in 2024. Following a year of chemotherapy, surgery, radiotherapy and immunotherapy Pip made a full recovery. Although this was not the maternity leave we had planned, it was made much more manageable with the incredible support from the TYAC team.
Your donations to the TYAC Fund allow the team to provide fantastic wraparound support to patients who are diagnosed with cancer at a young age. This includes: expert medical advice, a support WhatsApp group, social activities and events, comfortable and welcoming treatment rooms so we could bring Matilda along, a bright and inviting ward and the brilliant clinical nurses who supported us throughout everything.
Any donation you make is greatly appreciated and will help the TYAC team to support young people and their families when they need it most.
I plan to post some pictures and updates onto Instagram along the way so do give me a follow. https://www.instagram.com/hometohome2026/
PS, Pip is convinced that her challenge of driving to Varese with Matilda and Banff (the dog) is infinitely harder than 12 days of hills, hostels and saddle sores!
