Story

On the 27th and 28th March we will be aiming to walk continuously for 24hrs to the total of 365km to represent the 365 days that the Samaritans are open for anyone to call. Our small number of students and staff will be completing the distance in the centre with many challenges making it as similar to Dartmoor as we can get!

Many people find it hard to speak openly or ask for help, but talking can be life-saving – whether it’s with a colleague, a family member, friend or a helpline like Samaritans. Every 10 seconds, Samaritans volunteers respond to a call for help. Samaritans are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to listen and support people with whatever they are facing, with no judgement. It’s the public’s kind donations and around 23,000 volunteers that mean Samaritans are always there for anyone struggling to cope.

Our local branch of the Samaritans hold a very valued part of the College and Sixth Form community having helped us over many years. We would like to raise not only funds for our local branch but also awareness of the amazing work this charity does.

Thank you for your support and any donations made.
