Story
On the 26th of April this year, I am taking on the London Marathon as a challenge for myself.
I was diagnosed with Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis at just 15 months old at Yorkhill Children’s Hospital. Growing up, arthritis is all I’ve ever known — from steroid injections and medications to MRIs and physiotherapy.
There have been periods where I haven’t been able to get out of bed or even dress myself, so being in a physical position where I can take on a marathon feels incredibly significant. I want to use this opportunity to give back to the people and organisations who supported my family and I at a time when we had no understanding of JIA or how to cope with it.
Therefore I have chosen to raise money for SNAC (Scottish Network for Arthritis in Children). If me taking part in this marathon can inspire even one young person to believe their condition does not define their future, then every mile I run will be worth it.
Thank you in advance for any donations/sharing of my post, your support is appreciated.🤍
