This year, the team at Hooked-on Group is proud to be taking part in the NE1 Dragon Boat Race to raise money for the incredible Sir Bobby Robson Foundation.

As a hospitality group built around people, community and teamwork, this is a charity very close to our hearts. Sadly, cancer has touched the lives of many of our team members, their families and friends, and we know first-hand the impact it has on so many people across the North East.

Sir Bobby launched his Foundation in 2008 to help find more effective ways to detect and treat cancer, creating a legacy that continues to make a real difference to patients and families across our region and beyond.

Sir Bobby - "Every time I've had cancer, it hasn't knocked me over. I didn't think, That's the end of me. I've always said, Oh, right. What are we going to do about that, then?"

The work funded by the Foundation directly benefits cancer patients throughout the North East and Cumbria while also supporting world-leading research into the disease.

We’re swapping trays and chef whites for paddles and life jackets as our team rows together to support a cause that means so much to us all. From Blackfriars, Dobson & Parnell, Hinnies and HQ, our crew will be giving it everything on race day, hopefully with more enthusiasm than coordination!

Any donation, big or small, will help support the amazing work of the Sir Bobby Robson Foundation and help continue the fight against cancer.
