Paul Hooton’s Story
I’m running the 2026 St Helens 10k, on 1st March, in aide of MacMillan Cancer Care.
I was recently diagnosed with Splenic Marginal Zone Lymphoma, a rare form of blood cancer, and have been having chemotherapy treatment at the Lilac Centre at St Helens Hospital.
During one of my sessions it struck me how many of my friends, family and work colleagues have either suffered or have known someone who has suffered with cancer.
The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, and every one of them needs the best support to meet their unique needs.
That's why Macmillan will do whatever it takes to help everyone living with cancer across the UK get the support they need right now and transform cancer care for everyone who will be diagnosed in the future.
