Story

Having two parents who live separately and both having Alzheimer's Disease (technically one has mixed dementia) is a challenge, to say the least. For each of them, for what they've already gone through to be diagnosed, for relatives, for friends, for those, like me, who care for them. I see the different difficulties and heart breaking situations of the people that Hope4 really does make a huge difference to. (Don't take my word for it, go and check out Chris Lomas on LI).

Making myself feel uncomfortable each day, challenge myself and do something that scares me (trying to be brave) and exciting all whilst doing my best to raise money for an amazing and hugely impacting charity that is Hope4 helping children and families. Many that don't even have a winter coat to keep them warm. Can you imagine?!

This all started with the power of LinkedIn with Lea Turner and Chris Lomas (Hope4). I saw a post by Lea and before I knew it I'd paid for my place in the Hope4 Team to scale the world's highest free-standing mountain THIS month with them, having never met any of them before!!

Being long-term injured meant that I haven't even been running let alone anything else. So this really will be a challenge, it'll be a challenge of focus being the longest I've been away from my children as well as my parents. Don't worry I've put things in place so they're cared for.

I really want to be able to make a difference to people and this is one way that I can do it, together with your help!! I need your support to scale the mountain and help raise money for coats, water bottles and everyday things that we take for granted.

It's not going to be easy, I'm armed with blister blasters, immodium, anti chafe cream, layers, hygiene wipes, anti bac gel, my garmin that might not last the journey (honestly I fear it won't be on strava). I know I'm such a geek! But this trip and challenge is about living outside my comfort zone for the children and families who are helped by Hope4, so that we can and will be able to help many more.

Every penny, every pound goes to Hope4 and the people that are impacted by poverty, crime and conflict! I've paid for all my expenses.

If you're reading this and thinking "how can I make a difference?" As Chris and the team say "Together we make a difference" you can be a virtual cheerleader for us, whilst making a real impact.

Life is short and all about doing the little (and big) things in life, so if you can find it in your heart to help people , please give to Hope4 charity. They are making huge changes and impacting so many people's lives with the help of you all and us.

Every penny you entrust, will have a material impact on people suffering the affects of poverty, human trafficking, war and natural disaster - and you'll be able to witness it.

To echo Chris' words "...please, dig deep, share, shout and tell the world, there really is Hope4 desperate lives."

Thank you so much for your generosity and support!!
