The Hope and Soul Children's Centre will aim to change the lives of street children and young people in Arusha, Tanzania.

Story

As a nurse at Portsmouth hospital my mum met a colleague called Hope who during her nurse training had elected to go to Africa to volunteer in an orphanage. The experience had such a profound effect on her that she went on to create the UK based charity called Hope and Soul. The charity works out in Tanzania, where Hope is now based, and supports children to have an education so that when they leave school or college they are equipped to find work and enable them to break the cycle of poverty.

The charity has very few big administration costs meaning that any money donated can go straight to supporting the children. Over the past few years my family have regularly supported this charity and my brother James has been lucky enough to travel out to Tanzania to volunteer with them. Like Hope, we believe that children belong in a family and should have equal opportunities to succeed.

To raise money for Hope & Soul my friends Dan, Dave, Dave and I are self funding ourselves to travel to Scotland for 48hours to climb Ben Nevis. Please sponsor us and help us to raise £500.00 to help support Hope & Soul to continue to offer children the opportunity to go to school, help families stay together and to end the cycle of poverty.
