Story
On Wednesday, the 3rd September 2025, Master Horner, Rebecca Joyce, and her Consort, Penelope Price will embark on an exhilarating adventure as they take to the skies in a Wing Walking challenge to raise money for the Master's Charity: Number Champions via the Horners’ Charity Fund.
They will be strapped in on the top wing of a classic 1940’s Boeing Stearman biplane and reach speeds of up to 140mph and a height of 1000ft for the flight of their lives! But it is not just about the adrenalin rush. They would like your support to raise money for Number Champions and make a significant difference to the lives of countless children
Every child deserves a good education so they can access better opportunities in life, and numeracy is a crucial part of this. Yet many children, particularly those from disadvantaged backgrounds, develop difficulties and anxiety about maths and find it difficult to engage in class. This can damage their self-esteem and negatively impact on their behaviour and education as a whole, with long term consequences for their future. Number Champions partner with over 30 state primary schools across London, where trained volunteers run weekly one-to-one sessions for the children most in need of numeracy support. They use maths games and other creative activities to make the sessions fun and engaging so that each child gains in confidence and is inspired to learn. Number Champions are working to write a new story where every child counts!
This exciting event will take place at 1:30pm on Wednesday 3rd September 2025 at RFC Rendcomb Airfield, The Whiteway, Cirencester GL7 7DF. A small number of guests are able to come and watch; please contact Rebecca or Penelope if you are interested.
So, please support Rebecca and Penelope in this heart-pounding experience by making a donation today!
