💥 ‘It’s banging’ 💥

This is the way one of the diners described his visit to Hoping York Street Kitchen, when I attended on Sunday 16th August.

It was an opportunity to witness first-hand the achievements of around forty volunteers, who prepare and serve around three-hundred meals every Sunday, to homeless and people in need in our City.

I was deeply struck by the kindness of heart, the generosity, the respect and compassion shown to all guests attending. Each one of them, irrespective of age, of background, or of the challenges they are faced with, were welcomed with genuine warmth and care.

The food served - all prepared from fresh by the volunteers - looked appetising and to the standards one would serve to guests at home.

Hoping York Street Kitchen is the 2026 preferred #Charity partner of Hospitality Association York - HAY and many fundraising activities will be taking place.

For one of them, I have committed to a cycling 🚴🏿 challenge to help raise funds & awareness by riding between two Balkan Cities in October.
