Project 12 is the mission to build 12 water wells in 12 rural villages in Somalia.

The project will contribute to the achievement of the sustainable development goal in general and, in particular, the wellbeing and living conditions of 12 rural villages in Abudwak.

Many parts of Somalia have experienced humanitarian crises triggered by below-average rains for five consecutive years and seasons, as well as floods resulting from El Nino, which have destroyed infrastructure, including water facilities. The worst-affected regions include Abudwak and Dusomareb districts, in particular hinterland area that had limited water facilities which most of them were destroyed or damaged by flash floods.

These rural villages would have access to drinking water, sanitation, health, and poverty reduction. The project has multiple financial and socioeconomic benefits. It will help guarantee drinking water supply to the 12,500 people in Abudwak nearby villages, improve hygiene, sanitation, and health, and ensure a better life, as well as contribute to their development.

Animals in those villages will have access to water, people armed conflicts over water will be reduced, communicable diseases will be reduced by 60% due to safe access of water.
