Simon's Magical Mystery Tour

Howard Piccaver is raising money for Sue Ryder
In memory of Simon Martin

Cycling from The Cavern Club to Abbey Road Studios (London) · 16 May 2025

Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can get the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters.

Story

On 1st November 2024 we lost our dear friend Simon Martin to cancer. Simon was a wonderful human being – so kind, generous and funny; he was also a very talented musician and singer – playing in many local bands from Peterborough including the Dizzy Miss Lizzys and Janus Stark. Simon was a huge Beatles fan and in recognition this, myself and Anne will be cycling from the Cavern Club in Liverpool to the Abbey Road Studios in London to raise money for the Sue Ryder - the charity chosen by his wife Julie. The ride is 221 miles which we will complete in 3 days – joining us on the last leg of 55 miles into London will be Simon’s very close friends Daren (Sturgeon) and Taff (Matthew Walsh). The journey will be epic and emotional so please donate whatever you can to this fantastic and worthwhile cause.

Many thanks, Howard xx
